Shopping, Aperitivo, Culture and much more to be discovered in the beautiful Milan in December

1- Enjoy your well-deserved Aperitivo Milanese

Probably the essence of being a citizen of Milan! Head to the Navigli or Isola to sip your drink and nibble on tasty appetizers while surrounded by the energy of young cosmopolites.

2- Walk on the amazing rooftop of the Milan Cathedral

Just allow all the beauty of the stunning views of the city to sink in; also, great location for your Instagram pictures 🙂 After sunset the Duomo had lights on, and you can overlook at the cathedral square with Christmas decorations! (open from 9 am to 7 pm)

3- Live your best life shopping on a budget in Italy’s fashion capital

You should go to the Quadrilatero della Moda for some looking-without-buying kind of fun; however, shopping in Milan does not necessarily mean you have to spend a fortune in upscale boutiques.

Corso di Porta Ticinese is a street with unique and alternative shops where you can find original items.

4-  Oh Bej! Oh Bej!

Temperatures have been telling us that Christmas is coming and it is finally the time to feel the holiday spirit. At Piazza Castello from the 5th to the 8th there is the prettiest Christmas market of Milan. Fun fact, this market has been opening the Christmas celebrations since five centuries!

5- Vittorio Emanuele II Gallery Tree Lighting

On December 1st the Lighting Ceremony of the Swarovski Christmas Tree will be taking place. Taller than 12 meters, lit by 36000 lights and decorated with more than 10000 ornaments it is not to be missed. Do not worry though, the tree will be in the Gallery for you to admire until January 6th

6- NYE in Piazza Duomo

For those who will be in Milan during New Year’s eve stop by Piazza Duomo for a free NYE plan. If you are brave enough to face the cold, you will enjoy from a concert with great italian artists and will be welcoming 2023 surrounded by thousands of people!

7- Hop on a train and spend a day visiting Lake Como

Just 30 minutes from Milan there is the one and only Lake Como. Overly-crowded in summer but heaven on earth during fall. Stroll the gorgeous streets of Como while enjoying the last days of the colours of the autumn foliage.

8-  Meet cool locals with FollowMi Around!

As Christopher McCandless said ‘happiness is only real when shared’ so book our Secret Milan Tour to discover the city and to meet passioante local guides!

These are all the most popular Italian alcoholic aperitivo drinks, but of course they’re not the only ones! And if you look for something alcohol-free you can always have a coke, an iced tea or whatever you like!
