10 tips for Surviving & Enjoying the expat Life in Milan

Probably the essence of being a citizen of Milan! Head to the Navigli or Isola to sip your drink and nibble on tasty appetizers while surrounded by the energy of young cosmopolites.

Just allow all the beauty of the stunning views of the city to sink in; also, great location for your Instagram pictures 🙂

  1. Live your best life shopping on a budget in Italy’s fashion capital

You should go to the Quadrilatero della Moda for some looking-without-buying kind of fun; however, shopping in Milan does not necessarily mean you have to spend a fortune in upscale boutiques.

Corso di Porta Ticinese is a street with unique and alternative shops where you can find original items.

  1. Discover Italian wines at the Milano Wine Week

From October 6th until October 13th, over 300 wine-related events will be taking place around the city where you can learn more about the Italian culture.

Quick tip: if you haven’t been to the Museo della Triennale yet, take advantage and visit it in those specific dates as you will get a free glass of Ferrari sparkling wine!

  1. Visit the ‘Justin K. Thannhauser’ Exhibition from the Guggenheim Museum

Starting from October 17th, the Palazzo Reale will be hosting, until February 2020, an exhibition with works from some of the most famous Impressionists, post-Impressionists and modern artists of the world.

  1. Take advantage of the last few days of the ‘Magnum’s First’ at the Museo Diocesano

A great chance to see a collection of 83 photographs that was rediscovered in Innsbruck in 2006 with shots of various artists including Henri Cartier-Bresson.

The exhibition will be displayed only until October 6th!

  1. Indulge at the ultimate Cheese Festival

From the 18th of October to the 20th, Bergamo will be hosting a mayor cheese showcase in occasion of the World Cheese Awards which is one of the most important global event for the industry. A nice opportunity to meet the producers, taste new products and basically make the best of the autumn weather.

Milan is fashion, design, architecture and much more! This month you have the chance to experience it firsthand; from October 4th to October 10th in Brera you can participate in workshops, talks and visit exhibitions to grasp the creative nature of this city.

Lago Maggiore in home to three breath-taking islands and two small islets which can be visited only a few months a year. Until the 3rd of November you can go to Lago Maggiore for the day and dive into the Italian Baroque style.
